Color, Collaboration & Clay

nc potteryThe art students at CHSSCS, with Kinnakeet Clay and Sandcastles Gallery, are planning a festive community evening of creativity, color, collaboration and clay – just in time for the Holidays! It’s happening at the DQ Shops in Avon.

Come enjoy a display of their work as well as that of professional local artists and fine crafters. Nibble, sip and jiggle to Rory and friends’ live music as you discover one of a kind treasures you can purchase for your Holiday gift list.

Participate in the “Handmade on Hatteras” raffle featuring locally made NC pottery, jewelry, painting, prints, photography and fused glass.

“Screaming Lady” t shirts designed by the late Glenn Dodenhoff have been donated by Catfish Pottery and will also be on sale.

Proceeds from this special event will be used to purchase much needed pottery supplies and equipment for the CHSSCS Art Department. Funds will also further support their annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser whereby students with their art teacher, Marta Martinez, island potters and volunteers, raise and donate thousands of dollars to island food pantries and Hatteras Island Meals.

Mark your calendar and plan to get in the spirit with us as we kick off the Holidays with creativity, color, collaboration and clay! We welcome locals and island visitors alike.
